My whole life I have never known what I wanted to “be,” but I have always known that I want to make a difference.  My most fulfilling work experiences have been when I was helping people, but not in the traditional doctor/ teacher/ social worker ways.  I believe in the “help people to help themselves” philosophy, so I have helped small business owners to realize their potential, awarded scholarships for minority and women business owners to take university classes, and tried to stay community focused.

From there, my career seems to be mostly focused on technology…  It was interesting and creative in the beginning, but ultimately became unfulfilling and lacking in intellectual challenge and creative expression.

I left my 13 years in tech to pursue something that I hope will eventually allow me to touch many more people and help them focus on what is important in their lives.  May seem strange, but I think that film-making may provide me both the creative and intellectual challenge that I desire to feel fulfillment with my day to day work, as well as the long term potential to reach many people with important messages that will help them to find their own purpose, their own fulfillment in their lives.

My subtitle reflects how I live my life. I decided a long time ago that I make my own destiny: that I happen to my life and dont just let my life happen to me (rain maker). At the same time, if I am unhappy with a situation, I change it, I dont just stand there silently and take it (umbrella holder). I thought it was the most fitting way to describe my personal life philosopy in a few words. Does it work?

Currently I am splitting my time between my home in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, in an effort to start up my new film company and my role as Producer.
